The Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc. provides care to those in need. Individuals who cannot afford the cost of care or who have no third party payment source may receive free or subsidized service. Direct care including nursing visits, homemaker/home health aide service, and clinic care are all provided according to need. The Agency gratefully accepts donations to help support these services. Contributions from private individuals, community groups, and private businesses and corporations assist the Agency to CARE FOR THOSE IN NEED.
Donations and planned gifts to the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc. may have charitable and tax benefits. The Agency provides written acknowledgment to the donor and to the honoree when appropriate. Be sure to include the name and address of the honoree or individual(s) to whom you would like notification sent.
Donations may be made in a variety of ways.
Direct Cash:
Checks, money orders, or cash may be mailed or delivered to the Agency. Be sure to include the name, address, and telephone number of the donor.
Memorial Designations:
Remember a special friend or relative with a donation. Additional memorials gifts may be made through requests in newspaper obituaries or funeral home notices. When a total of $200 is received in any one name, a memorial plaque is added to the Agency's Endowed Memorial Board.
Honorary Tributes:
Acknowledge a birthday, graduation, wedding, or other special occasion or achievement with a gift to the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc.
United Way Designations:
List the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc., on your pledge card as the recipient of your United Way donation.
Bequests:
Include the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc. in your Will. Bequests may be all or part of an estate and may be left in the form of cash, real estate, pension funds, or other assets. Check with your attorney or financial advisor to be sure that your gift is appropriate for use with the Agency's tax-exempt status.
Stocks or Other Marketable Instruments:
Stock donations may provide significant tax deductions or reduce capital gains to the donor. Stocks may be transferred directly into an Agency account.
Life Insurance:
Designate the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, Inc. as a beneficiary. Your estate tax will be reduced by the value of the amount donated to the Agency.
Charitable Trusts:
Trusts can be designed to provide immediate income or to be deferred until the time that the Trust terminates. Consult your attorney or financial advisor to determine how to design the Trust to best meet your needs and those of the Agency.
Matching Gifts:
Many employers will match employee's donations to charitable organizations. Check with your employer to initiate these arrangements.
The Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford is a charitable 501 (c)(3) organization. The Agency files annual reports with the Secretary of State, State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection, Public Charities Unit. It does not sell or exchange its donor list.
